Aimee's Army

A Foundation of Love
that supports families of
AML (Acute Myeloid Leukemia) patients

We are here to support families of AML (Acute Myeloid Leukemia) patients with their travel to afford them the opportunity to be with their loved one during their in hospital treatment.

Our Story

Aimee was a bright light – cheerful, encouraging, and full of love. Her smile and laughter were contagious, and she never met a stranger. A proud U.S. Army veteran of 11 years, Aimee later found her true calling working with children as an assistant principal. She wore many hats: daughter, sister, wife, mother, Gigi, and mentor to countless kids. Aimee always gave selflessly, spreading hope and joy wherever she went.

On December 11, 2023, Aimee was diagnosed with acute myeloid leukemia (AML) a fast-growing cancer. She faced it with courage, faith, and an army of loved ones. Despite enduring immense pain – organ failure, infections, and a coma – Aimee never stopped fighting. Just 66 days later, on February 15, 2024, she passed away.

As parents, we dropped everything to be by her side in Texas, making several trips from Georgia. The costs of travel, lodging, and food added up quickly, but were grateful to have the means to be with her.

In Aimee’s honor, we created Aimee’s Army Foundation of Love to support AML patients and their families with unexpected travel expenses – allowing them to focus on what matters most: being there for their loves ones.

Our Mission

When a family receives the devastating news of an acute myeloid leukemia (AML) diagnosis, everything changes in an instant. Treatment often means multiple hospital stays lasting 14 days each – or longer – repeated over several cycles. The emotional and financial tolls is overwhelming.

At Aimee’s Army, our mission is to make sure no family has to face this journey alone. We help bridge the gap so loved ones can be at the bedside – not worrying about hotel costs, meals, or how they’ll afford to stay close during treatment.

We exist to keep families together during the fight of their lives – because healing happens when you’re surrounded by the people who matter most.
